We all wish to thank you, Sarah and Chiara for the fantastic tours of both the Coloseum/Forum on August 10 and the Vatican on August 12. Sarah provided detailed and scholarly insight, putting history in perspective with relevance to the present. Chiara was refreshingly enthusiastic, with great knowledge and passion. Though I had been on the tours previously, both Sarah and Chiara provided new and insightful elements that make the experience fresh and shall bring us back for more. Sarah and Chiara are fine representatives of the professional experience we have come to appreciate from you and Odyssey.
Well done and thank you!!!

Day Tour Delight - Rome/Naples/Pompei
Husband (history buff), me and 12yo all had a fantastic day on this tour. Excellent value all inclusive, entry, tour guide..and delicious lunch!. And EASY...we had hotel pickup and it was the only tour that ran on NYE so they dropped us back right in time for the big fireworks show at Circus Maximus. Couldn't have timed it better!
Very well looked after, everyone on time, informative and knew their stuff. Couldn't have done same on our own in that time and saw everything needed to see! Even got snow! (a once in a blue moon occurrence for Pompeii apparently).
So memorable, thanks Marianna!
Amazing tour with Elisa!
We toured the Colosseum and Forum for 3 hours with Elisa and we all hung on her every word! She was amazingly knowledgeable and was full of answers to all of our questions. Her English was flawless. I highly suggest taking this tour. I don't think we would have appreciated the sites without all the details pointed out to us!! My 12 year old son said it was his favorite part of the trip!!
Louise, a lovely university student from Ireland, was our guide. We had two teenagers and a ten year old. She made the tour fun and exciting to keep the interest of the kids, and I found all of her stories and information fascinating. Thank you!
I highly recommend this tour agency to arrange tours, hotels, etc., in Italy. Marianna, did an excellent job in making sure that everything went as planned. We booked through her a three day, two night tour to Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri. It was an excellent trip and experience! The trip is sub-contracted through Carrani Tour Company, and they provided excellent service. I had read negative reviews about this company (Carrani) and can't understand why. Even though they seem to provide these services to all tour companies in Rome, their service is very good and our experience with them was very positive. We were picked up and delivered to our hotel on time, their buses were very comfortable and clean, the guides were very good, etc. Additionally, Marianna took care of our hotel selection in Rome, Venice and Florence and they were excellent selections! Thank you Marianna for all your help, it was like having a best friend or relative helping you from abroad!!!!
What can we say but Wow! Absolutely loved the trip and everything that represented Odyssey tours promised and delivered was more than we expected. We had the beautiful experience of enjoying such a beautiful city and felt like we were on a journey of exploration and discovery without the stress. For everyone who was involved in ensuring our tour was going to be a memorable one was heartfelt. We will definitely look at Odyssey Tours again. Thank you for guiding us to places that we would have possibly missed had it not mean for your suggestions and services. Feel like we have made a friend for life! Jeannie & Jesse
We had a several tours with Odyssey, such as the the Vatican and catacombs in Rome, the last supper in Milan and a gondola ride in Venice. Each tour was thoroughly enjoyable, informative and great value. Marianna was able to sort out any problem that arrived, such as modifying dates for us and arranging payment. She responded to emails promptly and the personal touches made us feel like we were dealing with a good friend. I would definitely use Odyssey again
Was in Rome a few years ago and took a tour with Odyssey which we thoroughly enjoyed - was surprised at the time at just how many tours they offered - it wasn't just limited to Rome, they also organised tours for nearby attractions as well, day trips etc and you also had the option of a tailormade tour.
Came back in March of last year and booked a few tours with them. Was extremely impressed with how professional, informative and fun the tours and tour guides were - these people really love their jobs! All the guides we had were very approachable, knowledgeable and enthusiastic - even when it came to asking them for tips on where to eat and socialise!
The tours were also very good value for money - in a city like Rome, where there is so much to see, and which would take you years to get around, I would recommend Odyssey taking you by the hand and showing you the highlights!
My husband and I took this tour during our honeymoon. We booked the Illuminated Rome walking tour, which is a great nighttime walk and a wonderful introduction to Rome. A great way to get acquainted with the city layout and know where the main sites are.
Our tour was pretty basic, as far as the information told to us on the tour. It was a great length tour (about 2.5 hours +) but we would have liked more history of the sites and areas.
Great small group with two other couples.
Dear Marianna, I am writing to let you know that the bus tour to Assisi on Sept. 12 was outstanding - one of the best things we did on our whole trip. We told everyone we met on the cruise about how beautiful Assisi is.
My misgivings about Carrani bus company did not come true at all. We were picked up at our hotel (the Alimandi Vaticano - it was superb) at 6:40 a.m. and taken to the Carrani bus station. There were only 12 people on the tour so the group assembled quickly, and then we left in a small bus with a nice driver and our friendly guide, Lucilla. All of the passengers were very nice and interesting. The only thing I did not care for was the stop at the ceramics factory, but that did not take long because no one bought anything.
In Assisi, we had a Spanish woman named Begonia as our guide. She could speak faster and more clearly in 3 languages than I can speak in one. She was excellent. We went to all 3 of the churches of interest - the church of St. Clare where she is buried, the magnificent basilica where St. Francis is buried (and we were able to place candles at his grave), and the church where he died and was originally buried (that's the church with the little church inside of it). We walked all through the town which has been beautifully restored and maintained. There are many shops on the main street but they were nice shops, not junky tourist shops. We learned all about St. Francis and St. Clare and the earthquakes and the frescos in the churches. The lunch, in a hotel, was just fair but that is the usual case with lunches on a group tour.
Lucilla told us that this tour almost never goes to Orvieto, because some other tour company has taken it over. I had read that Perugia is a fairly big city and not all that interesting. When Lucilla explained to us that after the bus would arrive in Perugia, it would take another half-hour to get into the city and than a half-hour to get out again, the people on the tour started talking about not going to Perugia., Lucilla said that if even just one person wanted to go to Perugia, then we had to go. It was pretty easy to get 12 people to agree - no one wanted to go to Perugia. So we had more time in Assisi and that is how we got to go to the church with the little church inside of it.
When we got back to Rome, the bus dropped off the people who were near to the bus station, and when we got closer to our hotel, where the streets were very narrow, Lucilla put us and another 2 people into a taxi at Carrani's expense. I thought that was extraordinarily nice. By that time, we had been gone for nearly 14 hours, because the traffic was very bad getting back to Rome.
Thank you for arranging this for us. I think you were also the person who referred me to Agoda, which was the only booking site that had rooms available at the Alimandi Vaticano for the nights of our stay. It is a wonderful hotel.
